Building a shed.....

First I flattened the earth, measured the wooden, bits and filled it with bricks and earth, laying out nicely.

14 bags of all in ballast, ready to go with 4 bags of sand, and 3 bags of cement.

All in all, for a first attempt (I normally hate DIY), I don't think I've done too badly, especially as I was armed with only 6 beers and 5 pints of orange juice :D

Just need to put the shed up now :D
...and book an appointment with the chiropracter...my back is killing me....

Good effort mate.

Who ever took the shot of you sweating deserves the camera more than you do..:D Just caught the drip of sweat before it dropped..

My back can't take that sort of mixing now. I use one of those big yellow bendy bucket things and a mixer thing that goes in a drill. long as you make a wet mix it mixes really easy and quickly :)

Well done Marcel. How do you fancy a working holiday? I've only got 55 metres to go till I get to the road.

Sends me back some years when I mixed 3/4 ton of the stuff for me dad in one day....

Betch've got stiff bits today then?

Looks to be a good job tho.

Thanks chaps :)

Basically I'm building a metal shed on it. The instructions say to make the concrete base larger than the shed, but I'm doing it slightly differently. Because one or two of the things are missing (dont ask...lol), I'm building it smaller than the size of the shed (by a cm or two), then attaching wooden timber around the base of the shed like this

So any rain will run off the sides of the shed and past the concrete. I'm also sealing it so it will be nice and watertight.

It's a bit on the small side Bodders. What are you planning to do in this shed? :suspect:

 From SWMBO?

You could cammo it up and put some feeders out! :D

Nope ;) Already checked because its a non permanent garden structure (Can be unbolted and moved etc)
Something like that anyway.

Betch've got stiff bits today then?

   :nono: Now you're getting as bad as Janice

Good job Marcel. We had a metal shed.... for about a week. Just wait until it rains heavily and you'll see what I mean!

Marcel......did you have to make it difficult for a challenge?

Instructions are usually written for a reason.....:cuckoo:

Min, either he or his neighbours might like the delicate sound of raindrops at 100db

Serious though bodders, I would strongly suggest some form of insulation on the underside of the roof as the rain drums like a *******

Aaaahh so theyre noisy? I'll look into that insulation idea.

It wont catch on the top, which is good, as it has an apex type roof :D

You put it in the wrong corner, it should`ve been on the other side........ :D
