Edit My Images
Yes
I went to edit some photos I had taken at the weekend and it turns out my trial of Aperture 3 expired on Friday :'(
So I fired up Bridge and Elements 6 to edit my photos and got half way through editing 1 photo and gave up! I wasn't enjoying it, everything seemed to take twice as long to adjust as in Apeture. I can't quite put my finger on why I have loved using Aperture but it seems so much more intuitive and simplistic with stunning results.

So today I popped in to the Apple store opposite work and purchased a full copy of Aperture 3. Obviously I will not completely turn my back on PS, I am fully aware there are certain things that Aperture can not do that PS can (eg. Layers), however 99% of my PP work will now be done in Apeture.

If you are struggling with photoshop or are thinking about a change, or maybe considering buying your first photo editing software then do not rule out Aperture, download the trial, its seriously good!

Ha I sound like a salesman! This is obviously just my opinion.

hi

Good to hear. What editing are you doing in aperture?

WB Correction, Exposure correcting, Curve adjustments, Cropping, Straightening, selective dodge and burning, sharpening....

Usual kind of adjustments.

Is Aperture for Macs only?

Yes Mac only I'm afraid.

Do you find aperture better than doing those edits in the raw converter?

Much better, its a 2 stage process in PS, in Aperture every adjustment is made in the one interface.

Download the trial and see what you think, It took me a couple of days to get used to it. I'd be interested to see what other peoples opinions are.

Will do. Although to be fair to raw converter you can do all of the things you listed without actually opening the images in the main program

Curve adjustments and selective dodge and/or burning? I never knew that.

yep, all there. Don't know if aperture is better though

I had a very short play with Aperture in the apple store yesterday. I have to admit it was quite good, but I think I still prefer lightroom, possibly because i'm used to using it.

Daz, I had the same opinion, albeit Elements 6, but after using it over a period of 2/3 days my opinion changed.
