What a lovely idea for a 52, Lisa.

Your Goldie is Gorgeous and I love the way the sunlight is following the line of his (her?) nose, eye and head.

Your Rottie is definitely very handsome too and you've caught a very pensive expression. Pin sharp focus on the eyes. I should think it's impossible to resist that look. :)

Commented on your Goldie on Flickr, but, as mentioned in your other thread here. I LOVE your Rottie!! She's adorable!

Super processing on the 2nd shot Lisa. So you have an overlap, 365 and now a 52, good luck ;)

oooh, nice idea :D

Awww Lisa!!!!
Those are both fantastic shots and such beautiful looking dogs too

I'm really looking forward to following this thread (although please forgive me if I don't comment every week)

I like your Goldie shot, but the Rottie pic for week 1 is quite simply stunning . . . it's almost got an oil painting feel to it and such gorgeous expressive eyes.

lovely dogs, and I'm looking forward to seeing your 52 :)

Fed up - Shes waiting to go and play in the snow on the park.

Got told some of the results today, they say there is nothing significant from the samples they took so shes going in later for a change of meds. Still gotta find out what they are as they are still growing, her eye has come down alot too. Shes become so much like her old self but not fully there!

Lovely shots Lisa, all of them. I can appreciate the sentiment in fed up, it comes across so clearly. What's up with the eye ?

Awww, your Rottie does look a little better, bless her.
Your Goldie is most deff, Fed Up!
Lovely shots

Her eye became swollen just before xmas and the vets thought it was either an abscess or tumour, they scanned it and couldnt find any signs of a abscess was still worried it was an tumour but they saw her last week and are happy its came down so looks like its not  Will have to keep an eye on it. Thanks :)

Thank you :)

Shes got the all clear on any tumours :woot::banana: The lumps on her back end dont show to be them from the samples they took, ok theres a a few odd cells there but they are happy its just a very deep/ very bad skin infection. The one under her tail might have to be cut out but hopefully she'll be good in about a month :D

Cant tell you how happy we are!

Lisa... I hope you did go and play with that first one... ;)... a lovely shot, and she does look sad.

But... for me this week... it's gotta be the rottie... superb shot that is. I'm glad that it's been determined to be nothing serious and is recovering (the eye, and the rest of her too).

Thank you :) Yep we played after, shes not the type to let it go

Toc is much better, the lumps dont seem to be doing much but we will see what they say next week, shes picked up soooo much though

Sorry I'm a bit behind with my comments. :)

I'm so glad to hear Toc is making good progress. One of my dogs is on a heavy dose of anitbiotics for a skin complaint at the moment and the other has a recurring sore paw and you can't help worrying about them. :)

On to the photos:

It's hard to pick 'stars' but if pushed I'd go for Fed Up for your Goldie, with yesterday's as a very close runner up. The last one (yesterday's) of Toc is definitely a winner for me. You've caught a great expression in the eye and your pov is just right.:clap::clap:

Hi Lisa,

No updates from you for a while . . . please keep them coming because they are absolutely beautiful.

I was sure that I'd commented on this after your week 3, but either my laptop or internet had a glitch / I'm imagining things / or I posted my comments on somebody else's thread . . . I'm kind of hoping for option 1 as the other 2 scenarios don't say much for my sanity

Your latest shot of your Rottie is my absolute favourite so far . She is so photogenic and has wonderfully soulful eyes. I hope all the health issues are sorted out now.
The "fed up" shot of your Goldie is a close second though. Wonderful expression on her face.

She went back to the vets last week after 3 weeks on her meds and as the lumps arent really doing anything they are going to cut them both out but cant be done yet as she just came into season :bonk: She still seems a bit odd but we will see how she is when the lumps have gone.

some beautiful shots there.. love how you have processed them, such gorgeous dogs!

Gawd, your Rottie is SUCH a great poser. I want her so bad.

Her eye look so much better
I'd have gone for a bigger DOF, and/or higher shutter but that's just being picky!

Thanks, thats the reaction most people have when they meet her  Most my family wanted us to breed her so they could have a puppy from her

I have poor light in my house so i have to deal with what i get which can be a right pita!!

Lovely expression on your rott, and lovely eye on your Goldie

You mention the low light situation - tis exactly why I try and do everything I can outside, or get a flash unit and point upwards/use off camera[when the weather is how it has been, fingers crossed the light weather does happen soon, eh?]. Is the softness on pics PP work or slow shutter speed/blur?

Thanks :) Tia could here the neighbours dog barking and wasnt too keen on it

The softness is in post, i use a action called soft honey glaze, theres a few in there that give different looks/ colours, if you want ill try and find where i got it from? Either that or just knock down the clarity.

Yeah i agree, second picture is a tad overdone to me, gorgeous pics though, I think a bit of brightening and Clarity will work

Your Goldie always has such a sad look

Thanks both of you!

I cant even tell you how hard it is to get a pic of Toc unless its really good light, i just end up with a black splog  I think it much be the fog on that one as it was like it before i did anything, not feeling good so wanted to get the pics out the way.

Chloe does always look sad, i think she thinks she'll get more attention  Ill try and get a smiling pic next week of her!

We had to practice this as apart from tennis balls/ toys Chloe doesnt really hold anything, so pleased with how quick so took to it!

She was back at the vets today, have a date to go in and have the lumps out, they are gonna scan her tum while under as she seems pretty bloated which isnt like her, he had a good feel and thinks its best to check theres no fluid or anything going on.

Beautiful dogs and photographs. have really enjoyed looking through your thread. I can't imagine getting one of my dogs to hold a flower in their mouth - more likely eat it - terriers
Hope all goes well at the vets.

Some lovely portraits in this thread. Glad I stopped by.

One or two seem to be a bit over-blurred but that could be my late-night eyesight as most are absolutely spot on.

Love the different processing techniques too.

Ian.

A lovely pair of shots Lisa... Well done on getting her to hold that flower.. are you going to get that one printed ?

The Rottie is a lovely shot and she is looking well, and I'm glad things are still going in the right direction. Good luck with the vets.

Chloe was in on her own as Toc was at the vets, so she had a nice warm bath as she was a bit smelly, bless the old girl :)

4427330010_8047f09c36_o.jpg

She went in to have the lumps removed but they decided they was happy with how small they had got so didnt remove them, they have near enough gone now. They scanned her tum to check for extra fluid but thats all find too. Shes still got some sort of skin prob but thats still to be sorted!

There's something arty about week 9... not sure it's really working for me though Lisa... sorry... perhaps getting in close to the nose, which would push everything more oof would work better... it's just the eyes aren't enough oof for it to work for me. ( I actually sound like I have a clue )..

Week 10, however...spot on... Love the first one... not sure she's so happy about the bath, or is that the drying or possibly the pink towel ;)... She certainly is looking better, and I'm really glad that everything has come on so well too
