Here go's, this is going to be fun, as 52 and a 365 all in the one year, and I am going to set myself the rule that I cannot use the same image in both!

Well this is my interpritation of this weeks theme, for the Talk Photography 52 Challenge.

So you say to the wife/girlfriend, darling I've booked us a weekend away the brochure says to Accommodation is a charming little residence set in a selcuded location on with mains electricity and lots of historic features.

Just don't always believe the brochure.

Hiya Matt

Good take on the theme, and something I was originally considering myself as I own a campervan (but thought that would be the easy option for me).

I think your image would benefit from a slight straighten, crop, adjustment and sharpen, but otherwise I think you have it in the bag as for remote accommodation.

Cheers
Dawn :)

what an excellent interpretation :)

I'd like to see a bit more contrast in this one too - it might suit a 'blair witch' black and white style perhaps?

looking forward to seeing more - good luck with the 52 and the 365 :)

Thanks Dawn, I did straighten it, I used the telegraph pole to level it maybe should have used the caravan itself since it was the main subject, but pole seem more off putting from a level point of view but what with the telegraph pole, caravan and fence post in frame that are all leaning in different ways.

Maybe I should crop the pole out. I agree on the sharpen and adjust. When I have a free moment will have a play

I like the idea of a Blair witch style, will have to have a play.

This is going to be a fun challenge, I am enjoying seeing the different interpretations of the subjects. Good Luck to everyone.

I quite like the distracting bushes in the foreground.

Great storyline, wonder what's going on in there??

Looks like a shot taken at distance and cropped in??

Might be worth a try at B&W...

Cheers.

Well not to sure that I have captured the idea/concept of a Blair witch effect with this re edit, also for the life of me I cannot think why I sharpened it before applying the blurring effect :bang:

Well here is my week 2.

TP52 WEEK 2 NEW by mwhcvt, on Flickr

I have to be honest, this week has been really hard for me, as a theme "new" sounds like a easy theme, but that really isn't the case, I like my effort for this week but I don't think that it is the most creative idea, if only this was later in the year I have so many ideas.

Hiya Matt,

Well done for getting your week 2 sorted. Considering the fact that you are also doing a 365 I think you have done well here.

If I remember correct, there is someone else who had a similar take on the them for this week, which just goes to show that great minds think alike.

I like the way you have got the 'Post New Thread' label under the 'New Thread'. And that you have the 'Project, Personal Challenges & Themes' page open, with the 'Sticky' of the list of people taking part (even though that is the 2010 list there is a link to the 2011 spreadsheet in there too - sorry just a little punt/reminder to all that there is a list for us :p)

What I find quite amusing is that your screen look very similar to mine, i.e., the Flickr, Facebook and TP tabs displayed at the same time

I think the image would benefit from a bit of a lighten and contrast boost, but otherwise it is a good pic.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with next for your 365 and 52.

Good luck

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks Dawn, I had a number of ideas in my head, the one I really wanted and have been trying to find one all week was a macro shot of a 2011 mint coin but do you think I could find one, even went to my bank but the woman just looks at me like I was crazy, not had much chance to check out other peoples yet but will get round to it once I have edited today's photos, all 690 of them, I hope I find a 365 image out of them lol.

What did you think to my blair witch attempt of a re-edit for week one?

Hiya Matt,

Wow you did give it some thought, can't say I have seen a 2011 minted coin yet either. But good on you for going to the bank to try.

You need to get your finger out and get checking out some of the other peoples projects, time is moving on :D Just joking, I understand how pressurised things are with taking on a 365 and 52, but I think you are doing a fab job so far.

Sorry, I thought I had commented on your re-edit of the caravan. I like that very much and has a very spooky feel about it. Would go quite well as accommodation for my week 2 of the 52 theme :p

Cheers

Well here is week 3

Well it is a day late being published because I have had to modify my plans, sorry that this was not as well thought out as some for this week but I have no choice as my original plan fell thought when my model dislocated her knee the day before the planned shoot yesterday.

My thought with this is off roading in style, however I am sure that some may consider it as car choice made with a thought to fashion aka style so it almost works on two levels.

Lynne, you are too kind, and before anyone asks I only drank it afterwards in the name of art

I will be in to check out your 52 soon, but I make it a rule to myself that I will not look at someone else's until I have posted my own shot so as not to copy someone else, hope that makes sense.

Matthew, spill the beans and let us know what your original idea as? Someone may be able to advise

The condensation is a nice touch, a few drips would be the icing on the cake so to speak.

I'd really like to have seen the bottle top falling off - mid drop.

Cheers.

My Idea was to do a long exposure, 1/2 second with two battery powered strobes one either side of the bottle set to flash at the highest frequency for illumination, then at the start of the exposure I opened the bottle with the idea of a still bottle but the motion blur of my hand and bottle opener with the crown top then falling away.

I will try it again, but cannot justify drinking to many bottles in one night ;)
