What are yours?

I've been bowled over by Silver Efex pro and have just invested in Alien Skin Blow Up as I can't afford a new more powerful body right now.

What do you consider important and why?

hi
i use silver/colour effex pro some whackey effects but used carefully the black&white conversions are excelent
for noise removal prefer Noiseware pro great results
for hdr photos i use photomattix pro by far the easiest to use
and imho nik sharpener pro for selective sharpening has got to be the best and the plug in i could not live without:thumbs:

I'd say NoiseNinja is my only 'must have' plugin. Everything else is just for speed/convenience. I do use other plugins but there's nothing they do that I couldn't do in PS without them, they just do it a lot quicker and it's easier to adjust the results.

I've just downloaded Sharpener pro for a trial. How much better than USM is it?

Noisewhere pro.
Silver effects
PK sharpner
I use these pretty much every day, would hate to have to manage without them.

How much better is Sharpener pro? How much is it?

You'd be better learning to use masks and layers with USM.

Guys, a little help please - i've downloaded the trial of Silver Efex Pro.

How do i find it in photoshop?

do you mean in the drop down filter menu?
Can't see it :(

:( using CS4 if that makes a difference?

nope :(

just got the following

Artistic
Blur
brush strokes
Distort
Noise
Pixelate
Render
Sharpen
Sketch
Stylize
texture
Video
Other.

under other is -

Custom
High Pass
Maximum
Minimum
Offset

sorted - it seems i've got two photoshops on my pc - one normal and one 64bit:thinking:

Anyway it works in the normal one :)

Cheers guys.

I understand how to selectively sharpen with USM. I've downloaded the trial version of Sharpener pro and it seems interesting. I do like the interface of Niks software, but feel they could massively improve the software by making the control points more adaptable with freeform selections rather than just circles.
