Music Photography - My new site.

wow.

great web design, loads quickly, masses and masses fantastic images (love the bloodstock festival one at the top atm, and http://www.marklatham.co.uk/system/photos/468/original/Download09-Logan-DSC1667.jpg?1245796804 is a great and unique viewpoint too, love it), looks like you've got some sweet access sorted in there too :D

I'm looking for something to criticise, but can't find anything... great site, great photos, and you lucky $^&%% for getting that level of access... :P

definitely going to be browsing the whole site now... really refreshingly good gig photography :)

Great site Mark and excellent images. Welcome here too.

Just one incidental thing though...

about me > if want to use any photos

Needs another word after 'if'.

Also...

In the same para...

where there going to be used.

I think it may be "they're" or they are.

Cheers.

Cheers for the heads up on the typos Graham - sorted now.

KayJay - What netbook are you using and which browser? Can you send me (or post) a snapshot?

Cheers!

thats great the way youve got it set up.

i like to view the pics easy scrolling downs better than fancy slideshows and i often give up.

nice clean images similar to i shoot shows [i follow his blog].

ive allways wanted to photograph the prodigy [i may fly to berlin this year just for that] cant find your pics can you link?

i also shot ghost of thousands [at truck] it was like going to war maximun everything, strobes, leaping in the air i nearly got my head flattened leaning in to get the drummer with the guitarist airbourne several times.
so i set my camera to max everything and just went forward,it was ace fun.

yep my verdict well put together and interesting site:thumbs:

i would take down your d70 pics youve mike stands in the face etc and your much better now.only ever show your very best.

your links to other snappers is out of date

gobsmacked by your lens just goes to show sigmas better than i thought and you dont need £1000 nikon lens, though its nice.

most of my stuffs with a 50mm even went back to the d last night.

can you tell how you go about setting up the website.

ditchdigger, theres a search on the top right - search for prodigy there - that was an insane gig!!

Website took me a few months in spare time to create, its all custom built, no word press or blog tools etc. I designed and built it and used a company I know to do the database stuff - you can find a link to them on the right hand side of the site - www.kleardesign.co.uk

Cheers.

found them must of not clicked enough, mad looking bunch arent they?
breathe is something else

those other photogs you linked to are pretty good as well :D

It's an 8 inch screen, but the floating navigation bar gets in the way of the images. It's more a design issue than a bug. A fixed navigation bar would be better, but that's my opinion. Looks fine on my big widescreen monitor though :D

Site looks great.

I just find the mailto: commands (like your contact link) to be annoying as they autostart your email client. Some people like to look for maybe a number or such or even just use web browser based email.

But other than that, i like it. Makes me want to start changing my site up. Get something professional done.

GREAT WORK!!!

rock on tommy

i am an amateur musician

are you into concerts..classical?

mrcrow - Never done a classical gig but wouldn't mind giving it a go, would be pretty different to the crazy gigs im used to!!

Glad the web design has gone down well, it took me a while to work out the best way way to display everything, I wanted to keep away from the typical 'flash' style slideshows. I still have a few tweaks to make but pretty happy with it so far ;-)

Cheers.

Lovely site, inspirational to me actually, I love gig photography and enjoy doing what I can when I'm at gigs.

Is it just me seeing lots of halos from over sharpening though?

I've just downloaded and nosed through your eBook, I am amazed at how low a shutter speed you are managing to use and getting such good images

Great website, really like the design in it. Only thing for me would be (on my laptop) the menu bar gets in the way a little bit over the images, but it's fine on my big screen. :D

Is it just me seeing lots of halos from over sharpening though?

I use Adobe Lightroom and when I export photos it sharpens and attaches a watermark, I do this on all photos so I guess photos that are already very sharp may have the halo effect. Im not too worried about it though.

After reading these comments I think im going to reduce that title bar a little!

loving the website (19" monitor here)
very direct and like the gigs. would love to see some indoor low light gigs too.

however, your images are very good, I would definitely put a watermark on them. they are all very nickable...so look after your work chap!

Toshiba Tecra M2 laptop here, 15" monitor: IE6 because our company hasn't upgraded yet!

Get an IE pop up telling me:

"IEPNGFix: Children of positional elements are unclickable <DIV>"

Awesome site mate. How did you land up doing what your doing? Same thing im looking to get into once i have finished college.

Nice looking site. Some fantastic images there. Excellent.

loads of amateur orchestras would really appreciate your interest..i used to play in them
and some shots of their practices for the members to download and print
dont be hard on copyright till you get the hang of it

concerts are difficult and you will have to be black and white and carry a stick in case the conductor doesnt turn up
