Music editing on iTunes

Hi all.

Looking to chop some of the longer music soundtracks I listen to into smaller pieces and then perhaps merging two or three chopped sections together.

As I understand it this isn't possible using iTunes itself so does anybody know of any easy programmes that I could download to help with this? Nothing overly complicated that will take ages just quick edits so I can combine all the good bits into one track.

Audacity, should let you do want you need

you can clip down in itunes but you cant combine tracks.

A friend of mine also mentioned Audacity. Looks like I will be giving that one a go.

Another vote for Audacity from me. It isn't too difficult to use and the help files are pretty good for guidance.

There used to be a program called Soundstudio that was good for this.It used to be bundled with eMacs at one point - don't know if its a multi-platform software....
