I have a small music collection of approx 35Gb in MP3 format and it is sitting in iTunes (I know, lets not start arguing about iTunes - I like it) - this all gets sync'd to my iDevices in it's entirety. Some is purchased through iTunes store and the rest is ripped from our CD collection.
Anyway...
The genres seem a little off - perhaps too wide in their categories? and some bands/groups have differing genres between albums.
I have spent many, many hours ensuring all the track names, albums and cover art is correct but have not touched genres yet.
Is there a database or website that lists the artists/albums correct genres? is there such a thing as a correct genre or is it subjective?
I know that 'Rock' is not descritpive enough for me when I have Genesis and The Enemy both as 'rock' - not the same type of music IMHO.
How do you organise yours?
