moving information onto new mobile phone

Morning all
I'm getting a new mobile I'm going from a Samsung S3 to S5
I'll get EE to transfer my number over
whats the easiest way to move contacts apps ect from old phone to new
I have got a 64 gb card in the s3 with all my photos and music on it so that will be easy just swap it in
or am I best just starting again and reinstalling everything
 
Hi
Sync you contact and app with your gmail account. Once you boot the s5 put in your gmail account it will ask if you want to restore it all back.

am glad that I won't have to redo it all again on the new phone

Please make sure you login to gmail and check that all your contact are there before you reset your S3. Also exporting them from gmail to csv to keep safe.

If you need to copy your SMS, you can use SMS Backup and Restore from the Playstore to export to a text file onto the sd card.

what is CSV ? I'm not very tech savvy:D
 
I've just found something called Samsung smart transfer
looks like it will be just the job transferring all data apps ect
thanks for the help anyway though and I will still back up onto gmail :)

I'm thinking about upgrading from an S3 to an S5 when my contract is up for renewal in April, I am also going to moved from T-Mobile to EE for 4G.
Did you get a good deal with EE as they seem to what to push the more expensive contracts for the phones to be free.

Yes I got the 5S for £27 per month unlimited calls and texts and 2gb of data no upfront payment
(Through car phone warehouse)
happy with that and the 5S is excellent I did have to search their site a bit to find the 5S they do push the new 6S and Iphone 6
I had to go with EE they are the only network with any sort of coverage where I live
I can't always get 3G let alone 4G!

Was that via there website or in one of their stores?
I saw that offer but it was only available online.

Hi was on website it's not in store but you can get it delivered to your local shop
The S5 is great BTW I've got my photos on it on an micro sd card , the images look great better than the S3 which oversharpend them especially if you zoomed in to look at details
