hey guys, im a beginner photographer and would like to know how i can improve my skills and move on to be a higher level photographer? If anyone could help that would be amazing.

Go and take lots of pictures of what you like and put a few on here telling us what you want to do better.

That way we know where you are now and can help with where you want to be.

Hi Joshua,

Just take loads of photos and do as much research as you can! Use the Internet or your camera manual to research camera modes (aperture priority, shutter priority, program and manual - avoid auto and the scene modes) and experiment with those modes to see what they do. Learn how shutter speed and aperture settings affect the image and learn what ISO is, then learn how those 3 things work together. Research metering as well (which is how your camera reads the light to give the right exposure for the photo), there are a few things you can learn about metering that will help when you're out shooting. Basically just do as much research and playing as you can, before you know it you'll start gaining knowledge and experience.

Don't be afraid to come here and ask questions as well! There are loads of very knowledgable and very good people here who are more than happy to help out, make good use of them. :)

Post some images. You may be a beginner, but there can be a massive difference in ability between beginners.
