Well it is moving day for me today, my new flat awaits

Everything is packed except for a few small bits, just waiting on the removal men arriving

Hoping this will be a quick and painless exercise with no surprises

It's a weird feeling at first but you soon get used to it.

What used to get me when I first lived on my own was that stuff I'd left around the flat before I went to work was EXACTLY where I'd left it when I got home and hadn't been banished to that place called "tidy" :lol:

My only advice is don't let the unpacking hang around.
Bite tge bullet and get it done.
SO worth it in the long run.
 
Well that's a good 2 thirds of the unpacking done, most of what is left is reliant on some new furniture arriving
 
When I lived on my BO-diddly my home was immaculate - I had 1 plate 1 bowl and knife fork and a spoon in daily use and nothing else. My OCD was satisfied...Hope it all goes well with the move and you settle in fast!
 
I would have had a lot more done by now had I not still been waiting on the carpet fitters and an electrician coming back to fix a fault
 
Just got my council tax bill for the new place, £1,030.22 :eek:

Are they aware (I'm making an assumption here.) there is just one adult over 18 living there?
If not, a quick phone call and you will see that figure reduced ;)

Had a case of this with SWMBO last night.....

Last weekend I painted the low level soffits and fascias, I knew I had a nearly full bottle of white spirits but couldn't find it in the shed so I made do with the namby-pamby environmentally friendly stuff I'd bought before which isn't really fit for purposed. While I was at Asda in the week, I picked up a bottle of white spirits and left it by the back door when I got home so I'd remember to take it to the shed the next time I went out there.

Last night I was getting the washing basked out of the boiler cupboard and what did I spy on the shelf.... TWO bottles of white spirit that had been magically placed their by the tidy fairy. I spoke to said tidy fairy and pointed out the folly of her actions although I have no confidence it'll make any difference :lol:

sounds like a lot but its only £85 per month , which isnt that bad really
 
Finally got all the furniture in/built today, now fully unpacked.

Also used the new cooker for the first time in anger this evening, had a nice steamed meat pudding
