Mountain Hares, Cairngorms

Hi, I've got some time off over Christmas so I'm heading off to Scotland for a few days and while I'm there I want to photograph some Mountain Hare, so what I'm asking is, where is the best place to find them in the Cairngorms?

High, head up onto the main plateau away from the popular walking paths. You have to stalk them.

Lads/maybe lass if anyone expressing an interest does get lucky,share some images please. Something for the "one day please god book" for me. I've never seen one.

Be careful on site info with hares on an open forum we won't hurt them but others might !!

A fair bit south of the Cairngorms, but there are a lot of hares.

Trouble with the Cairngorms is that if it is only a bit windy in Aviemore you can hardly bloody stand up on the plateau. It is a place where mere survival can be very problematic.

Thanks guys, also been told a few more places to check out, The Spey Valley, Deeside and Glenshee, think I better start researching these places
