Motorcycle road racing.

I have huge admiration for those riders, bigger balls than I am ever likely to have.

Having seen the swelling in the gonadal region caused by ploughing twin furrows up the back of a bike tank, I hope so!

I remember many years ago watching either Grandstand or World of sport. They were showing racing where the riders would pull a key out of a hat and that key would start the bike he was to ride in that race, 250cc class i think, the commentator suggested anyone with a weak heart who was thinking of watching the race to change channel before it started.

In 1977 I rode to Mallory Park on my FS1E to watch the transatlantic series races with Sheene and Roberts , Ron Haslam etc

35 years on I still remember being in total awe at what they do , today it's much the same except the bikes look much better screwed together

I got into the pits and managed to fight my way to within 10ft of Barry

The one thing I didn't expect to see under his right leg was a fairy liquid bottle with a tube going somewhere

Still don't know what it was for or it was Suzuki Japan approved or not

Presumably a breather pipe and a catch tank.

Both Team Suzuki and scruteneer approved ;)

The series was the Yamaha RD250 LC and later 350 certainly the best one make series at the time, as hot ice said Yamaha brought the bikes to the circuit and all the riders had to do was pull a set of keys out of the hat.

Do a search for aberdare rd races held every yr in a local country park the guys who race here are brain dead ( total respect to them tho)

Been and seen them race there
The park was laid out in victorian times and we all know how good the victorians were at motorcycling
To see them racing on narrow paths with run off areas? close to band stands, rose bushes and a pond has to be seen
Mindst you they are protected by hay bales on the dangerous bits of the circuit :cuckoo:
I used to think Olivers mount was seriously dangerous but aberdare is the daddy
