So my 9 month old daughter decided that this morning 4:20am would be a great time to wake up and want feeding. After getting her fed and put back down to sleep my brain was working overtime and there was no chance of getting back to sleep so I got up and flicked on the computer to edit some photos from my sisters wedding last weekend.

I have found that the photos that I have been a bit more creative on the photos I edited this morning and this got me wondering when is the best time to edit?

I have no plans on scheduling a daily 4:30 to 7:30 am edit session though!

Early morning is the best time of the day for me, or at least I'm most mentaly alert early morning. Frequently get up around 4 ish during the summer months, not so early this time of the year. I always think early morning summertime photography is best between daybreak and 7am, after about 7 the haze starts to form and the best light is gone. As for sitting in front of a computer at that time of the day, good luck. But if early morning editing works for you, do it more often!

I apply my best workflow to every shot regardless of the time, keep the layers and save as PSD often so I can have a break and return and can resume/rethink and self crit, and carry on

Now trying the late evening technique and not working out so good. Agree on starting stuff then coming back to it for a second look though.
