Morphing/ image combination

Folks,
What I am looking to do is take a portrait of a model and merge it with say a wallpaper image so the persons face appears to have skin enveloped in the wall paper. Can anyone point me to a tutorial or give some advice as to how I might achieve this?

I think you willl need a tutorial on Displacement mapping
