as the title suggests, i'm looking for monopod suggestions for the above canon lens that i have on order from Kerso.

the monopod will be used for events and wildlife photography.

do i need a wimberley head???

any advice much appreciated.

cheers

derek

I'd have thought pretty much any decent monopod would do. It's not a particularly heavy lens. And you certainly don't need a Wimberley head for a 300/2.8. But if you want a bit of control, a Manfrotto 393 head does the job very nicely.

cheers stewart, i'll look into the manfroto.

hi derek,
definitely a manfrotto,i use one with a manfrotto 234 swivel head supporting my
ef 500mm f4.5,and have never had a problem with it

cheers paul

I have a 682B which is the free standing version of the 681 (as long as you only use it to hold a flashgun or similar) but have recently moved to the impressive Neotec . Both used with the 234RC Tilt head.

Got that ^ one too, as posted before and using a Kood head on it, it's way sturdier than I expected going by my old Slik monopod.
