monopod/softbox question

i want to be able to use an assistant (ok my daughter or my missus) to be able to hand hold a soft box on a monopod high up without resorting to a boom set up(il only use it very occasionally so cant justify the cost) , ive seen people do it in various videos and magazine features but cant find what im looking for...is there an adapter i need to fit, cant see anything that helps :help:

What soft box do you have?
 
Was there an adaptor with the bracket part to convert it to 1/4" screw? There often is.

If there wasn't, you'll need to buy one.

il have to have a hunt around see if there is one there...have you any idea what it looks like or a link to one i can buy:thinking:

It appears that the bracket is attached to the 1/4" screw at the top of the stand. Which is odd because if you look at the bracket it's got a standard light stand sized hole and thumbscrew.

So there's definitely a converter on the picture, if not in the kit.
