Hi, Anyone out there , can you advise me on what monitor to buy as I'm replacing mine very soon. Some people say Dell and others say Samsung. My buget is around £300 I'm using window 7 & Epson R1900 A3+ printer

Just run a search on the forum, loads of threads on monitors.

For your budget have a look at the Dell ips range. Also make sure you factor in for a good screen calibrator.
 
£300 is an awkward price.. it's just on the cusp of where the range of good monitors starts to open up.

The logical choice for me at that price is the Dell U2412M. IPS, proper 16:10 24" and works very well when calibrated. As it's around £230 you'll have some cash left over to put towards a calibrator. I recommend the Color Munki Display if on a budget... possibly the Spyder 4 express, but the color munki is better.
