OK. Recently I bought a Samsung 226BW as it was a well thought of screen and quite cheap too. After buying it I discovered I had more noise, lots of banding...etc which did not happen at work on my Dell. I later discovered on the net that Samsung made the first few and farmed out the panels to China or somwhere, these units have not got an S in the serial number and are inferior. Samsung of course will not listen to my complaints.

So I am looking for a new screen, 20-22" and do not want to buy the wrong one again. Any suggestions please?

A Dell - but the panels are made by Samsung

I went for the samsung 2032BW, very nice indeed.

i recently bought the samsung 2232 bw,very nice monitor

I use a iiyama 22" was quite cheap and its wide screen

I brought a Samsung 226BW 6 months ago worked for 2, rang samsung replaced following day great service and no prob with the replacement.

Problem is my Sansung 226 is not defective....it is just produced substandardly and therefore not malfunctioning...so they will not swap...mainly as they do not want to admit to farming out production to cheaper sources.

Eizo have a good reputation. A bit "pricey"...

Thanks!
I need a new monitor now, as I've just spat my coffee all over it after seeing the price

Viewsonic? I have the Viewsonic VX2025wm and it is very good, excellent colour reproduction and contrast. The Dell 20" and 24" WS are also very good.

I also have Samsung which is great, but you could try LG or Philips or...

I guess it is down to personal preference again, Eizo are definately ont on the list however....despite their great reputation. Lacie look like a possible option, maybe in the new year...
