Evening, I recently purchased a Dell 2713H monitor and have a question about its day to day use. There are a number of different profile settings and it flicks between them depending on what you are viewing. Personally I found this very irritating, especially when I have a number of windows open. Therefore I set it manually to ARGB for everything.

What do other people do with wide gamut monitors? I don't really watch movies on it, but do look at the web and you tube.

When watching TV or DVDs, I manually put mine into sRGB mode, as a wide gamut screen will oversaturate a non colour managed narrow gamut source such as video.

Most browsers these days are colour managed, so I tend to leave it in my custom calibrated wide gamut mode for everything else.

TV in a wide gamut screen can be a mess though.... unless you're on of those people that always have their TVs set with far too much colour... in which case you'll probably love it :)

Thanks, my granddad used to have way to much red and green on his TV, watching snooker was harsh at best.

As I don’t have the kit to produce my own screen profiles I have downloaded and installed the ICC profiles from TFT Central.

Are you also using the 2713H, did you set the custom profile or are you just selecting it from the list?

No I use an Eizo GC303W and color Navigator with a i1 Display Pro.
