Monitor problem - too dark?

Hi all

Would appreciate any help.

I bought LB a Samsung Pebble 17-incher back in March, and it seems to have developed a problem. The image on it is far darker than it should be, and no amount of playing with the brightness/contrast settings seems to fix it.

Is it possible that the backlight has gone?

Joe,

I had a backlight fail a couple of years ago. When this happens the image is barely visible. I remember the tech support guy asking if it was just images/data or was the screen's own menu dark too. Clearly the menu would also be dark with a backlight issue.

Best thing is try with another laptop or PC and see if it's still the same.

If it works fine with another laptop/PC, check the graphics card setting (might be the gamma settings) of the first machine.

Otherwise, sounds like a warranty job.
