Monitor Hood yes or no?

Hi, I have a Benq monitor that came with a monitor hood and just wonder do you think the hood interferes with light when doing PP.
Yes I understand that Benq put the hood on for a reason but unsure if it helps or not.

Isn’t that the point of it?
I use my hood as I have a light above my monitor and a window to the right. I think it helps

Of course it helps. Why would anyone bother to manufacture and supply it if it hindered?

My BenQ came with hood and I used from the day I installed it.

IMO it is beneficial and I cannot perceive of a downside to it!

Depends on lighting in your office if it makes a noticeable difference, but bare minimum it would stop a lot of dust.

It would stop you seeing the whole screen from certain angles. This is not great if working with colleagues or moving around the place a bit.

I take your point about circumstantial usage but in most single user (home usage) environments such sharing of the view is very limited to non-existent.

PS when showing my wife the screen it is simply enough to rotate & tilt the hooded screen as needed.
