Monitor Calibration

Hi Guys

Just about to order some hardware for monitor calibration

I have my choices down to two models

DataColor ColorVision Spyder 3 Elite

Xrite Eye One Display 2

Both are about the same price but which is the better buy.

Have you looked at the huey? I know a few people on here have the spyder seem quite good, personally I use the huey.

Though I have one myself, be wary of a Huey as they have admitted there are faulty units and are currently trying to investigate this at the production line.

I've just brought a Huey Pro and am delighted with it. Easy to set up and use.

I posted pretty much the same thread a few weeks back and only got responses saying I should go for the Xrite after I'd bought the Spyder 3, if you do a search you'll probably find it.

The Spyder 3 and Xrite units seem to be one step up from the Huey, but without getting to the £300+ units.

Have a look on ebay for international sellers. I found a huey pro for £49 inc delivery from canada !

I would definately get the eye one display 2 over all the others. It seems to get a more consistant result over a larger range of monitors.

There's a Canadian one on there selling for around £56 ($99) which might be one you're referring to, postage is $30 and it says import fees or tax may apply. That would put the cost up a fair bit more.

You can buy the original Huey and then upgrade to the Pro via the US site for half the price of the UK upgrade.
