Yes
From previous threads I have noticed that quite a few people visit Mojacar but if you are planning on going at the moment it might be an idea to check your accommodation first.

There was a fire last week in which many hecatares of mountainside/forest were burned but which was bought under control but friends contacted us last night (they live in the countryside below Mojacar Pueblo) to say they were evacuating due to another fire. Looking on various news websites it seems it is still raging and some properties have been lost with 1500 people being evacuated

Good luck to everyone down there and hope you are all okay.

My thought are with them, these disasters are terrible.

It's been raining here for about three weeks, I think I'm going mouldy.

Yes, me me me. Don't know how lucky I really am.

From what I hear, the fires were "officially" downgraded late yesterday afternoon and should have been out/under control by last night. It is hoped that water supplies, which have been off for the last couple of days will be restored to the fire stricken area and surrounding villages by later today.

Imagine 40 degree plus (I heard one report of over 50 degrees but that could have been due to the fire) very hot winds and no running water. I do not envy the people in that area at the moment
