Models with glasses on!

Can anyone provide or post a link to an image that shows studio lights reflecting in a models glasses that is acceptable?

I was taking head shots of my daughter today in the studio and she had glasses on. I was working the lights so as not to get any reflection and succeeded, however, I was curious as to what would be an acceptable light reflection in her glasses. Some reflection would show the hexagon shape of the soft box which looked pants as you could clearly see it and others I shot looked OK as you couldn't make out what light was being used, instead just see there is light.

Is there a standard reflection from glasses that is acceptable in professional portraits?

I will post some examples of my results. Meanwhile.......

I'll keep an eye on this as I've been taking shots of people with glasses too and need a few pointers.

It's these practical problems that cause so many headaches.

The idea is that when the lightsource hits the glasses and reflects off of, it bounces in a direction which never reaches the lens. There are a few things to help this:

Try lighting that hits the glasses at a wider angle rather than straight on (either turn the subject to be 3/4 or position lights wider).

Also using a longer zoom (and standing further back) narrows the angle range that reflected light off the glasses can reach the camera lens.

I am not 100% sure but a polariser either on the lens or on the light source may also help.

Do your models need specs? If not you could probably nip to a nice friendly independent opticians and buy a few frames with just the demo lenses in. Then just pop them out and away you go!

Failing that, you could urge them to get an AR coat on them but that will just make the reflections green!

That'd be my idea.
