Hi I am on the last stage of uploading a photo of a Bird(kingfisher) for getty images ,it is asking for me to upload the model release form, not sure why for I bird, however I don't have a printer or scanner at home and I have printed the model release document off at work could anyone please help on how to fill it in etc and how I can upload it .Thanks

Model release for a BIRD - how on earth would you get him/her to sign it lol

sorry I can't help you out there Den - just found it strange that a model release form is required

God luck with that

Les

Why would they need a model release for a bird? Are you sure it's a model release they've sent you?

Also.. if we can't see it, how can we help you fill it in?

....for a bird???

LOL

The whole point of a model release, is that the model signs it.

Sure it's not a license to use of some kind?

I'm guessing you've told Getty somewhere during the upload process the photo has people in and need to change this

Their is four stages in uploading my photo, the last stage is were it is saying I cant go to next step until I upload the model release form, the images were choosen by Getty and are on my account page.,,i know it seems strange to ask for a release form for a bird but as I am new to this I just took it as the norm, its just not letting me go to the next step of uploading the image due to it saying I need the model release form attatched. Why do I need a model or property release?

A release is a legal agreement between you and a model or property owner. It gives you permission to use a model's likeness or the image of an owner's property (for example, a private home, a place of business, a copyrighted work of art, or in some cases, an animal) for commercial purposes. Right-to-privacy, right-to-publicity (in the case of celebrities), trademark, and copyright laws require that you have releases if the images are to be used for commercial purposes...................I would like to add that I have successfully uploaded 4 photos that don't need a model release form , but the kingfisher shot does need one, not sure how I am going to go about it as it asks for model name address and age ,bit of a difficult one

I could understand it if they were asking to see your License to photograph Kingfishers but a model release is clearly a website error. Contact them direct would be my advice.

Getty deal with bazilllions of images. It is very likely you are dealing with a purely automated process. Email them.

Type out a form that simply says Form nor required for animal or bird. Then send that as the form .
