i don't like mobile phones. i find them an excuse for poor time management and hearing most of the conversations which take place on them dull.
anyone else not gotta mobile?
I've got two, one personal and one for work.
They're useful. I use mine for time management as they have calendars, to-do lists, note taking features, etc. I used to carry a notepad, but now I don't have to.
Both phones are on t-mobile, an MDA Vario II (excellent) and a Blackberry of some sort (good for what it does.)
Both are very good as organisers, calendars, e-mail clients and such. The MDA has a better choice of software, and is smoother to browse the internet due to the touchscreen. Neither are spectacularly good as phones, they're a bit too clunky. I'd have to carry a phone and a PDA to get the functionality I want though, so I'm willing to make that sacrifice. I think the E61 is comparable with the blackberry in this regard.
If you just want to make phone calls and don't care about anything else, get a decent nokia, they don't tend to go wrong and will do most of what you want. Motorolas and Sony Ericssons tend to be a little clunky, or have wangy software. On the flip side, some Sony Ericssons have excellent cameras built in, and could be a substitute for carrying a compact around with you. The camera on the Vario II is awful.
Network coverage is acceptable, high speed internet availability is excellent (in London, Essex and Herts at least.) Customer service is excellent for the business side of things, never had to deal with their retail side (my personal mobile is on a business contract.)
