I just got some 6*6 slides delivered, and hot damn they're impressive! Not got any prints of them yet, but looking at them under a magnifying loupe the detail is astounding :D

The more I play around with film, the more it impresses me:clap:

Saw gelatin and thought marshmallow!

Film still has lot going for it --- I still use my Bronica and sometimes become astounded at the results.... I think we've kind of got stuck in a "digital is the best way to go" so we all do it. It's just more convenient and less messy.

Stick at it hoodi...!

been pondering getting a 'bigger camera' and playing with 6.6 films...might have a hunt around ebay over the next few days to see whats what. looking forwards to seeing your results mate :D

edit: quickly checked ebay...brinoca or mamiya...and then of those which one would do? seems like the 645 is the mamiya but there's lots of choice in each make! erm...lightmeter too! could just use meter in another camera though I guess

I don't actually own a medium format camera or lightmeter - I steal the colleges prettty ancient Bronica SQ-A & light meter, no reason you can't use the TTL metering of a different camera (I actually find the spot metering on my D200 better for precision stuff) but medium format is inherently chunky gear to lug around, so personally I'd rather minimise weight by sticking with a light meter.

6*6 is just so damn lovely though, I'd go for it... And it's really lovely to work with, too (if you love mechanical cameras!). Ground glass blows everything else I've used out of the water. :D

Now, where are those plate cameras :D

Mmm 5x4" Cambo...

BTW Hoodi - that lens died and has been consigned to the big Lens Graveyard in the Sky. Not economical to fix.
