Mixing YN-468 and YN-560s

Finally dipping my toe into the OCF waters and trying to find a setup to use with my 5D2, however I'm struggling with conflicting advice and wonder if anyone can give me the benefit of their experience.

I'm considering buying a YN-468 as it allegedly supports E-TTL and a couple of manual YN-560s to expand my "creative" options.

One thing I am intending to do is to use a triple speedlight mount in a large octobox and I'm trying to understand whether there will be an issue mixing a 468 and 560s?

Also what are my options for controlling and triggering that combination. I'm particularly interested in what I can do without having to open the octo each time?

For instance, can the 468 be controlled via the 5D2 with an E-TTL cable, and act as a Master to the 560s?

It appears that the YN-468 isn't compatible with the 5D2 as far as E-TTL support goes, which is it a bit of a PITA!

Looks like it might have to be a YN-565 at some point then!

Regardless of which TTL flash you go for, if you are using all three of them on a tri-bracket in an octabox and want to adjust the power on the manual ones you'll still need to go in and do it err, manually.....

Yes, I think I had a bit of brain fade there...

Just as a sanity check ... if all 3 were E-TTL, then that configuration would work (1 master on E-TTL extension with 2 slaves)?

All rather moot at this point given the 468 won't do E-TTL on the 5D2 and the 565 is about £90 more expensive (and £110 more than the 560).

Gah - why can't I get something that's really cheap, but does everything I want (including the things I don't even know I want to do yet)!
