Missing drive

I have just installed a SSD (OCZ Agility 4) in place of the HHD2 in a Dell XPS17. But the laptop is having problems finding the drive (the previous drive was seen by the laptop).

The SSD appears in the device manger, under the disk drives, alongside the WDC (that’s in the HHD1 slot) drive that the laptop came with. There is no warning symbol on the SSD in device manager.

But under the ‘My Computer’ window the SSD is not listed. And using lightroom it is not listed. My Computer shows the C drive and E drive.

After checking the boot menu the SSD is listed as the second drive.

Grateful if anyone can suggest what I am doing wrong.

Computer Management > Disk Management ... is it there?
If so does it need to be formatted - right click > format?

I had a similar problem and I had to go into computer management to get it showing.

Thanks Dean and Gramps. That seems to have solved it. Now allocated a letter to the drive and a quick format has it showing up in the computer screen.
