Mirror speckle

When I look through my viewfinder, with or wothout lens on, I can see a little black dot, just above one of the focus points, can I clean the mirror and if yes, what with

Try a blower first to dislodge anything. I've used a fine brush before, but be careful.

Might not be your mirror either, could be the focus screen. Mine's covered in crap.

I have cleaned both my mirror and focus screen thank you Shorn!! :razz:

And I had also cleaned my sensor for a year with no problems!!

I just spat on it and used a dirty tea towel....how else?

No i think i used the sensor swabs and stuff if I remember rightly.

Perhaps I used it all up on the mirror and ended up using the spit and tea towel method on the sensor!! :shrug:

yeah, my mirror and focus screen, and gubbins behind the prism came back from fixation...with more gubbins and finger marks! doesn't do anything to IQ but bugs the hell out of you.

same with mine, mirror is well dirty but i havent got the stones to clean it. I just know I will knock it out of alignment and kill my camera

Yes, same here - noticed on Thursday night that mine was full of crap. Time to mget out the rocket blower again I guess!
