My Oktoberfest challenge

1) I will only use my 35mm F1.4L and my 100mm L IS UM Macro

2) I will only use my zoom for the Rut (sorry can't miss this)

3) I will post 3 shots per week

4) I must use both lenses each week

Looking forward to it...

Well day 1 is done... I need to post at least 3 shots this week to meet my challenge.

I think I will end up posting 3-5 shots I guess...

Here are 3 I shot today with a 35mm. I will need to add at least one more shot this week with my 100mm

35mm shot 2

lovely lovely lovely. Really like the use of DOF in these. Dont blame you for having a pass for the Rut, i have one as well. Looking forward to seeing you again next week.

The middle shot was f1.4 last one is F2.0 ( I have a 1.4 of the last one, but I should have moved the focus slightly to get a better shot...)

Thank you :-)

yup see you on the 9th :-)

Love all these Martin..the conversion works well with these images and the dof and pov is spot on :)

Like the wide open shot, you focused on the right spot too. That 35mm is a lovely lens (as I mentioned on the other thread it would be my next lens for my 5D2).

Good use of mono too :)

Thank you...Really pleased with the 35mm its a definite keeper...

The basket weave is the winner for me. Simple and effective.

Ian.

Good starting trio....

1.4 is a super skinny DoF lol

Martin. all great shots. good use of mono...though i do prefer shot 2 as its more riveting..

A couple of alternative views with my 100mm used for landscape :-)

Another good trio...

Hi Martin,

A great start to the challenge. I love all three of yesterday's. Cannot make up my mind which I prefer. The B/W works very well.

I prefer the second one of today's. I like the way you have centred and focussed on the building. I would have been tempted to clone out the people from this shot, although the people are important in the first shot.

I cloned a few 1/2 people out and just left the whole ones... I felt they gave it scale.... but I also did consider taking them all out....I do like the way the bush I shot through frames it somewhat....

Nice three Martin - I really like the unusual composition on no 2

Thanks... I wanted to try something different......

I really like the middle shot from yesterday.

Cool captures...wont say any more in case Gunn thinks I am sucking up ;)

First ones a cracker .. the bird makes it imo

All your sunsets are amazing...different perspective of Bushy Park and I like them :)

I like the way your pictures all fit together from different days. The textures are great in that very first black and white shot.

Thank you, Bushy Park inspires me....

Thanks N1cky..... I was only going to post 3 a week , but I have been sinking myself into the photography this week... It just felt right right having 2-3 similar shots per posting....

I will probably slow down a little from now on.....

Beautiful sunsets!

I was playing with these as part of a "Big & Small" competition at work... And as I shot them with my 35mm I figured I would put them in my thread :-)

wow.. nicely done. Not seen a russian doll for years.
Any reason you turned the head slightly in the bottom centre doll of the last shot?

I just didn't want it to be too regular.... It might look better if it was straight....

Yet another good trio.

I hadn't done enough 100mm this week :)

Going for a slightly different feel for these, a little more abstract....
