I purchased some flash equipment and with it came a Minolta flash meter 3. The flash equipment was older gear so I am presuming the meter is similar and as such may well be from the last of the film era.
So, my question is, will this be suitable for digital cameras? I presume the input for a digital (F stop, iso, shutter speed) equates the same or very similar to a 35mm film camera but just finding my feet so thought it would be worth asking.
The batteries are quite specific for the meter and mot cheap, so don't want to buy them if it's not really suited to digital.

Where you are using film of digital ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed are all the same to make an image.

I have a Minolta IV, which was also made when film cameras were on only thing to buy and I use that with digital no problem.

So in answer to your question is, yes the meter will work with digital gear. If you look online you should be able to find a manual somewhere which will be useful if your not sure about how it works.
 
That Minolta flash meter III is a decent meter (I think I have the IV). But flash meters are somewhat unnecessary with digital.

With film the were absolutely vital, because unless you were working in a pro studio and could afford to shoot a Polaroid to check your settings, the only clue you had to your exposure being correct was the flash meter.

However with digital, you not only have an instant check of your exposure, but you can see the real effect of your lights straight away.

I’d buy a battery, test the meter and sell it as a ‘cash back’ from the lighting kit.
