Ok- found this on Ebay- Minolta 50mm F1.7 Prime Lens AF- Could it hurt to go for this- saving myself up to £200- instead of the new Minolta 50mm F1.4 Lens??!?

Please some advice people as im itching to add to my kit but have limited funds atm!!! :'(

Appreciate any comments....Thanks!!!

If money is tight I'd go for that one, I'm sure you won't be disapointed!

Thanks guys..thinking cant go wrong for that price!!!!

Noticed JPS you have the F56 External Flash- debating on that one or £100 quid less~the F36- ? How have you found that? Is extra manouverbility (sry cant spell!) worth the extra?!

Thanks again!!! =)

To be honest Stacey, at the time the only reason I got the 56 flash was because of the ability to twist the head round and not just bounce it up and down like the 36. Then once I'd got the flash unit and used it a few times, you soon realise that spending a bit more (ok about £100) was worth it in the end.

If you are trying to make a 'go of things' in photography then it's probably best to buy the best you can, even if it means saving for an extra few months. You'll only regret jumping in and buying the cheaper option if you find it no good for your needs in a month or two. I discovered that when I bought a Sigma lens going cheap in Jessops, the pictures produced with it are not too good. I have only used the lens about twice since last summer and it is sat gathering dust in the corner.

Buy the best you can afford, if it means saving and waiting a month then do so, that's my advice. Use the money you save by not getting the f1/4 and buy the 56 flash..... Then you have the best of both worlds, good lens and good flash.
