Miniture figures

I was wondering if anybody could help me as to where to get some small painted figures from like ones found in this Flickr group

I've looked on the odd model shop site but them seem very expensive

A 100 figures already painted for £2.94. They will be HO OO scale or 1/72, which is roughly one inch tall.

Well painted miniature figures are expensive because they're very hard to do! The smaller you go, the harder (and more expensive) they are to do well. The best are done by amateurs for their own pleasure and enjoyment as well as (sometimes) public display and competition. For fantasy figures, try somewhere like Games Workshop and for other ideas, look at model shops and model railway emporia. Some places might let you borrow pieces or at least put you in touch with owners/modellers who would possibly be happy for their efforts to be photographed in return for a decent print.

eBay is a good source, I got a few bags of assorted models in various states of disrepair for the cost of a pint.

I may have to dig them out later.
