Mini tripod

Seems good to me but what i found was the smaller they are the more chance you have got of your camara and it's lens tipping over. It depends on how fare the legs come out, if they come out pretty fare then you will be fine with it :)

I had a lucky catch with mine the day i got my Tripod on my birthday :) So now i try and balance it more but that can't be helped i don't think lol

Han,

I think you'd fare much better with an old make-up bag or small cushion cover filled with dried peas or a little pea shingle/gravel. Adjustment is easier and there's no chance of it toppling over.

I've got one very similar to this from Jessops. It's ok for point and shoots but I'd not put my 350D and Sigma 105 macro lens on it. Far too heavy for this puny little thing.

Like Canon bob says, buy or make yourself a bean bag or three.

Hey hey
just wondering if this would do the trick for a first tripod just to use around the house when doing macro and stuff? i have a 350D, i assume it would be compatible with that....
thanks!

That one is for P&S pocket cameras, Han. Not for dSLRs. Too lightweight and not nearly sturdy enough to accomodate a 350D with any kind of lens.
Save yourself a disappointment.

Have fun!
