I've got a wanted thread currently running atm and one of the things I'm looking is a new bag.

Got a Slingshot 200AW currently and I've now got a 40d (with grip) and a 70-200 f/4, so you see I need a bit more space, not too much mind. Only ever went with Lowepro so as you can see, I'm a bit weary to move away, but I've noticed this Tamrac one that looks well.

Is the Tamrac waterproof? One of the things I love about the AW series is the built-in cover, saved my gear manys a time!

Any thoughts/suggestions greatfully welcomed!

Couldnt find mention of waterproofing on the tamrac site.
on wex it says...
Weather shield No
Waterproof No

I've got the mini trekker and love it. I've been out in belting rain with the AW cover on and it's kept my gear dry.
I really couldn't be doing with a backpack that doesn't offer full rain protection (ie not just shower proof).

I fit a 1D with attached (or unnattached to the side) 100-400 L in my mini trekker as well as a couple other lenses and a flash.

Appreciate it werecow. You'd think they'd all be waterproofed these days!

The Tamrac isn't officially waterproof but I've been caught out with a couple of their bags (including the Expedition 5) in fairly heavy rain and they have been totally dry inside. The zips are protected with storm flaps and if these aren't folded properly, you'll have problems but otherwise not a lot to worry about. The material itself seems to be waterproof.
