Afternoon!

Have any of you ever purchased any film camera goodness from Mifsuds? I was wondering how accurate their gradings are.

Cheers

Nick

I phoned them once and had what sounded like a small child answer the phone...

I bought a lens from them a little while ago, if anything they erred on the side of caution and the lens was much better than described.
Never bought a camera from them though but they do seem to have a good reputation.

I have used Mifsuds about 3-4 times. What I bought included a Nikon F5, and also a 135-400mm lens. As regards those 2 their gradings were spot on.

I have bought from them no problems.. lens was as described.. great service... Seem a tad excepensive nowerdays but if they had soemhtign I was after then I would ahve no qualms about buying from them again :)

I've used them recently for a few accessories, film back, speed winder, hoods. Accurate description. Fast despatch and a free mug. I'd recommend them.

Hi Nick, Anything I've bought from them has always been better than described. Good company to deal with.

I've been in their bricks'n'mortar while the girl on the phone has been examining the items describing every last speck of dust to the customer on the other end of the line. I've bought and sold kit from them and never had a problem with any of it. I'm lucky in that they're not a million miles away so I can (and do) go down and look at anything I'm interested in rather than relying on a description. Pretty sure they offer a 10 day inspection/test period on used kit. Proper, old fashioned camera shop.

Ive not purchased a film camera from them but have a digital camera and it was in even better condition that I had expected, they were very easy to deal with them!

I have heard a lot of good stuff on them however I had an odd experience when I enquired about a Zeiss 50mm they had for sale - used.

It was listed at around £449 - £499 from what I recall and I called them to ask on the condition one Saturday morning. I was promised a call back upon someone getting it out of display to give more of a description however didn't hear anything. Tried calling back and got no answer so emailed, again no response either over the weekend.
I had a phone call Monday from a lady who told me that for some reason it's now no longer available and has dropped off the system.

I checked there website a little bit later in the day and it was still listed in the same place, although now at a price of £699. They are only £599 new so what this is all about I don't know however something didn't feel right to me. I ended up giving my money to Ffordes in the end.

This is probably a one off, a lot of people do rate them quite hightly and to speak to they seemed very pleasant. I just found my experience a little odd.
