I want to purchase a 32gb micro SDHC card to put in my Archos Tablet for movie playback at 720p.
Would I be best getting a class 10 card or would a class 6 suffice?

The Archos will playback MPEG4 720p at 6mb/sec or H.264 720p at 5mb/sec

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I'd be inclined to go for the class 10 - not necessarily for the playback but for the loading of the media on to it (assuming you're going to be copying it on from a PC...) but subject to the usual caveats about buying decent quality media of known provenance from a reliable source.

I was looking at transcend or Sandisk from a reputable seller.
TBH I'm not fussed about the upload time to much from the PC but I do want to make sure that as the tablet reads the card the play back is smooth.

Worst case (and I don't think it will be the case - even my cheapo Advent Vega runs a class 10 at full chat) is that you will buy a class 10 and tablet will have a limit -all that would happen then is it would read at the slower speed. Class 6 is still plenty to supply HD (6Mbyte/sec is still 48Mbit/sec) way more than required for HD video...

I went for the Samsung Plus range so I can drop it in the sea and run the car over it :) Oh and they run like the clappers :)
