Metz flashgun - great bit of kit

As a portrait photographer my Bowens get used everyday but I rarely use any other form of flash these days, not even on a wedding.

It was my daughters third birthday yesterday and I used my Metz CT1 for probably only the second time this year.

The results were spot on

I used to work as a press photographer and used these Metz guns all the time. As I looked at the images yesterday I realised that it must be 21 years ago that I bought the flash and its still working perfect. Its still on its first set of rechargable batteries (the supplied Metz pack) and it is two months since I last charged it and yet it still had charge for a dozen shots.

21 years, thats not a bad life for a piece of photo kit

21 isn't bad, but I bought mine 25 yrs ago and up to 2 years ago it worked fine, then it's 3rd NiCad pack died too and I've not replaced it

Anyone want a 45-CT1 ??? Must buy your own battery pack though

I had one of these but it got nicked (along with a load of blad kit) some years ago. I think these ones fry digital cameras don't they?
Have a 45-CL4 now and love it.

If they are fine with digi I'll have it if you're giving it away lol ( have a spare battery pack)
