Im in the market for a flash gun for my D60. Use will be general but I will also need to use it off camera (via a hot shoe cable?)

Anyone have any pros/cons for either to help me make my mind up? Ive narrowed down my choice to the above 2 based on both cost and current experience of photography

many thanks

If the price is broadly similar I'd go for the SB-600, apart from the fact that you are guaranteed that it will work perfectly with your camera, it will have a better resale value should you decide to sell it later on.

Thanks for the response. Any users out there any opinions on the merits of each flash ?

The Metz does appear to be quite a bit less money (and the Nikon is daft money at the moment), and as far as I know they have a good name. I would do a search for any reviews before buying though.

Here is a Metz review: Metz 48

I've seen few reports about failures of the lock button on Metz 48 and Metz 58 :|

Thanks for the link to the review. In the review there is another link that states problems with the locking mechanism - its put me off albeit just the one comment. Think I`ll go with the SB600
