Metz 45 CL-1 or 2 or Nikon SB16 or 18

I'm starting a BA Hons Documentary Photography course at Newport in October and I've been sent a kit list and I need to get a flash for my FM2. I've been told that these are the compatible but I'm struggling to find where I can get one from. Is anyone selling one or know where I could source one???

MBP Photographic often have 2nd hand Nikon flashes in stock, other than that it'll be ebay I suppose.

Does your FM2 have any sort of TTL/flash communication or is it just a firing pin? If it's a basic firing pin then look at any flash with an auto-thyristor on it. This will allow you to set the ISO and aperture manually on the flash and then it will sort the flash exposure out for you, it's often more accurate than TTL too.

Its a Metz CT1, takes aa batteries, mint condition except for some paint flaking on camera bar, will get some pics tonight, £35 if your interested.

Cl & CT basically the same unit, made about the same time as your FM2, would have been the choice of the Pro Togs of the day. will throw in a Hanimex flash as well.

Just put a new set of batteries in and it is perfect, difficult to show in a pic though.
