Does anyone know if this ( Metabones Speed Booster Ultra - Canon EF to Micro Four Thirds ) is the right one for the Olympus OMD E1 MKII .

Its a bit confusing trying to find the right one as I'm new to Olympus and want to fit my Canon lenses on it.

Rob.

There has been several different versions of the EF to M43 Metabones Speedbooster, some of which have been discontinued. One of the earlier designs would not fit the earlier Mk1 versions of the OMD range. One design also had a reduction factor lower than the more common x0.71 designs at around circa x0.66, designed for video, it's not suitable for100% stills coverage and was designed with the GH4 in mind. One of the reasons the newer Speedboosters were introduced was to allow fitment to the OMD bodies, the earlier version fouled the OMD mock prism housing. Nonetheless it would be wise to email Metabones and obtain the part number(s) of the item which would fit the Mk II OMD bodies. Note that autofocus is not available on EF lenses fitted to Olympus bodies, but is available when fitted to Panasonic buttons with some limitations, this might need a firmware update on such as a secondhand version. The Black Magic versions are not suitable for standard M43 bodies. Also look at:

Care is needed to identify any lens which might collide with the front glass element of the Speedbooster. I use an OM to EF adapter attached to a Zhongi Lens Turbo II EF to M43 Speed booster, certain OM lenses, mainly wide angle, should not be used without researching their safety. Whilst I have EF lenses, the Zhongi does not provide communication to the lens to stop down the lens, my OM lenses stop down manually of course.
