Hello
Hope this is the right place for this topic.

I migrated from a 35 ml minolta slr to a fujifilm s7000 a few years ago.
With the minolta, I could play with the aperture and shutter speeds almost intuitively. I had a handle on depth of field and focussing issues and could get what I liked in a photo. well almost.
but now I realize i have lost that ease of use. I tend to use the automatic function which I never did on the slr.
Its a bit like the difference between an old fashioned radio with the tuning dial that turns, and digital presets with buttons everywhere. I am no doubt showing my age here.:suspect:

Is there a digital camera out there that mimics the way analogue cameras allowed you to set the parameters? Or do I have to move with the times?
and be able to plough through menus designed for logic boards rather than practical useage ?
Sorry about the length of this question....

With most of the latest digital SLRs you can make them as simple or as complicated as you want to. If you prefer manual focus then you can do that. All DSLRs will have a dial you can use to control your shutter speed or Apperture - or both. All the menu options are extras you can make use of as you get to know the camera better.

You have far more control over your photography with a DSLR than on your old cameras.

Thanks for your reply. I think I must be a little tired tonight and ranting. I guess I just need to try to play around with a few cameras and make a decision on what feels best in my hands. Like you say, you can then make it as simple or complicated as you want.
cheers
