Memory

I've been known to take a snap of the shopping list on my phone (which is on a lanyard round my neck.) I have noticed that my memory does seem to be improving but how long that lasts before anno domini remove the improvement is anyone's guess!

Nod

More Guinness in your diet will help. If it doesn't... you won't care

Don't like any beers! Despite having Irish antecedents. Devon born and bred, oim a zoider drinker (and yes, I know the Wurzels were/are Zummerzet!)

Oh, and I did remember to go for my MRI and the answers to the questions and to remove all metal from my person and to pick it up before leaving the MRI room. Now, if I could just remember where I left the sodding car!!! :P

Well, where did you last see it?

(why do people ask that? If you knew that you'd go there and find it wouldnt you! Weird. This is the collective "you", not you personally)

I have problems remembering where I leave my reading glasses so I now have several cheapo pairs (Lidl have them for £3.50 from time to time and they work fine!) and leave them wherever I expect to use them. Got a couple of spare pairs as well (after losing then refinding them after replacing them...)

Now I can't find where I put the remote control. I'm so, so frustrated!! (Seriously)
I've searched everywhere I can think of (but then obviously I haven't otherwise I would've found it already). I even looked in the fridge in the cupboards, the bathroom.
Where did I put the damn thing?! I hope I didn't chuck it away with the rubbish.

I've got 3 of them too! (Sky ones, all programmed to control the TV in the room where the remote is)

So you have forgotten our pub crawl around Dublin..... you got through 14 pints of Guinness and insisted on paying for all the rounds..... ?

Oh dear, I blame that pint of Murphys you insisted on trying at O'Dwyers in Pearse Street.... I did say we should stay off the Cork Stout.....

Agreed.

The other ridiculous one is, "it'll be in the last place you look."

Well, obviously it will. Duh!

Oddly, there's a pub bearing my surname on Baggot Street in Dublin. Never visited the place myself (or even set foot on Irish soil) but will if we ever go there.

I've tried to acquire the taste for beer but can't get it! I can handle a 50/50 shandy and a snakebite (ideally with black) but not neat beer.

Just to follow up.... I found the remote control, on the table where I could've sworn I looked earlier. How could I have missed it the previous 10 times I looked?

Probably the tidying up fairy who "hasn't touched it, darling" when asked...

Baggot Steer is an old stomping ground for me as most of my father's family lived around there, so as a kid I used to go North to see my grandfather and uncle's on the docks or South to loop round the Pearse Street/Merrion Square area.

The place is way different these days since my memories from way back in 1960 etc.

The whole of the Island is a fantastic photo site. I will be taking a friend from Canada over to 'do' a bit of the East coast from Dublin and North to the Antrim Coast and the Giant's causeway. Then West to Lough Swilly. His 'people' hail from that part of Donegal. Early Aptil time is his prefferred time. Hope to get to the Bushmills Distillery. I may be able to have a tiny drop....
