Confused by plethora of cards available! Looking at SDHC cards at MyMemory, I see that for say 8gb cards there are lots of variations from each manufacturer. I assume it would depend on my area of photography which would be general really with the odd video. Camera is likely to be a D90 if that makes a difference.

Any comments welcome, you won’t hurt my feelings!

use SanDisk cards (SD and CF) and get them from 7dayshop. The fake problem on e-bay is so great that there are several pages of advice on how to avoid them...

Another Sandisk & 7day shop, although jessops had them on offer recently! Only card to ever fail was a Kingston.

The speed of the card can make a difference if you do a lot of continuous shooting. Rob Galbraith has tested some cameras with various memory cards, you can see the results for the D90 here.

If you don't take any shots in continuous/sport mode, then you probably don't need a fast card. Though if you shoot video... There'll be a minimum speed for video that someone will pop up and what it is. ;)
