This is a long shot, found a memory card while walking in the Lakes this week. Dried it out and it contains lots of images taken at various locations that appear to be India and the Lakes.
Just wondered if the photography community had any common places on the web that try to reunite these things with their owners? Having lost similar things in the past I know how it feels.

This has been taken from another forum that I am a member on...if you need more info them message me and i will put you in contact with the chap who found it

Give the local paper a shout. They'll almost certainly mention it.

Any information in the EXIF about the photographer i.e. name etc.?

Maybe drop an image into stolencamerafinder and see if the owner has any images online?

If you could find a name in the EXIF data, Flikr would be a good starting point to find the owner.

If no name, maybe camera type, description of the person in the photos may help a friend identify who it might belong to?

The exif should have camera make and serial number embedded in it as well

I remember reading something similar a while ago where somebody found a card and posted on Facebook and Flickr. After a while the card found its way back to the original owner. Might be worth a try.

Are there any photos of people?

Social networks have been very good at helping re-unite folk with their memory cards in the past. If there is a photo of the people post it up somewhere!

Take note of the camera info from the exif, and then strip the exif out before posting so you can ask a question or two to validate ownership :)

great that you are doing this. i lost my car key last week but nobody handed it in and i had to pay a small fortune for another. good luck in finding the owner
