Ok I'm dusting off the failure that was my 2010 365 Project and after finding this forum and the Photo52 thread I thought I'd give it a go.

Hopefully being part of a forum and seeing other users work will keep me going....good luck everyone

^MORE CONTRAST!!! You are having a laugh... I LOVE this shot... similar to what i'd take normally... I like the processing but i'd have gone for more desaturation of the colours!

My kind of Hotel!! I agree that less saturated and a tweak in the shadow end could be the ticket here.

Thank you for your replies, I played around so much with this image. I didn't get much time to shoot for this theme and only took a couple of shots in Blackpool yesterday. I agree the saturation could be toned down a little it's only when I take a break from something and go back to it that I tend to notice things but I wanted to get it posted before midnight, the blown out highlights in the top windows annoy me a bit too :bang:

I did try it in B&W and a less saturated version where I played around with the curves to give it a more retro theme but ended on the shot above.

Hiya Nicki,

Well done on your start to this 52, I hope the feedback and comments you get kee you encouraged to complete this project.

I have to say I love the first edit, it gives the image an aged appeal, in line with the condition of the building.

Good luck with the rest of the project, will pop past again to see how you are getting on.

Thank you all for the comments, I agree the details get lost in the black & white version.

Still trying to decide on something for 'New' knowing me i'll probably get round it it at 11.50pm on Sunday!
