Among other questions and apologies for not knowing and being
so bold to even ask, the em@il contained this question:

May I ask how you do the website pictures you posted in
the last days about Apple, your iMac and the iMac Pro?

This addresses those with Macs as I don't know if it can be done
under windows nor how… I know nothing about windows.

I suppose on any Mac, when pressing Shift-Command-4, the cur-
sor will change to a crosshair. This command will permit to frame
or select a part of the screen by clicking and dragging over the de-
sired area.

Pressing Shift-Command-3, will take automatically the whole screen.

One more for you guys
The default, when it comes to saving the shots, is TIFF… not very
clever. Why save in such a large file format when the destination
is the web? There is a way out though:

Open Terminal — it lives in the Utilities ƒ — and do nothing else
but to paste this line after the dark block:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg

and press "return". This will change the default, system wide, to jpeg.

If you don"t like that, just re-open Terminal and paste:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture type tiff or
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type png or
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type pdf FWIW

and return.

Have a good time!

Good post and if I might add additional information...

If (like me) you do screenshots rarely and can never remember the correct key combination shortcuts... if you use Preview under the File menu you can select “Take Screenshoy” and choose between full screen, single window or selection.

The default in current versions of macOS should be png.

To do a print screen in Windows:
1: Press the Print screen button.

Or use 'Snipping Tool' on Windows (or one of the many free alternatives) to be more selective in what you want to grab
