Well... here goes this is already proving to be alot harder than i first thought took me ages to think of something to shoot and this was litterly scraping the bottom of the barrel although I have realised i need to set myself monthly themes so here goes.

January Theme - All shots using 50mm lens (loosely based around light)

I like the idea of monthly themes as well - my monthly theme will be 'Please, let me keep this going!' (which may prove difficult as I'm not even up on DAY 1!! ) Look forward to seeing more of your photo's, Matt!

Still in keeping with the light theme and again shot with the 50mm @ 1.8 which helped create the bokeh effect on the floor lamp.

Todays shot was taken while sitting in the car in a bus stop on the way to pick up the girlfriend, saw a shot similar to this on flickr and wanted to try it and this is what i came up with, quite impressed with it myself, again shot with the 50mm @ 2.8 this time though.

very nice, great idea with the monthly theme, try doing one like me and have a theme a day and to top that, the themes have to be linked!!

Day 4 - Holding the light, Inspiration was taken from a picture off flickr which i have bin meaning to try and thought what better time to try it and kindly my gf modeled for me

The unpowered bulb - this is a shot i tried about a year ago but was never totally sold on it because of shadowing but i think this one is much better in my opinion.

nah just shine a torch on the bulb, just keep moving it about until there are no shadows around the glass.

Winters night - Bit of a rushed shot as well it was -4.5 and getting close to me running out of time for todays shot but this is the one that turned out 'ok' im not perticularly happy with it as i know it could be done so much better and better focused so i am going to have to revist this shot at some point when its warmer and i have a bit more time.

Floating away - Still in keeping with the theme of light as i just took it by its other meaning and wanted to show the lightness of the balloon and give the idea of floating away unfortunatly danbo is a heavy sod so it wouldnt float.

I like that very much.. also like the idea of using themes.. mine are looking rather random as a set so far!

Yeah im liking the theme idea at the moment as its has something running through each picture and its not just a random one and keeps me thinking of what to do for the next shot although i dont think the month idea is a good one as i can see me running out of ideas soon

I am looking forward to changing my theme on Monday as I am finding the Fifty a bit restrictive when panicing for ideas!

But love the balloon shot! Well done...My shot for yesterday is either a goldfish or a bench! yay! Haven't had chance to look at them yet...so we shall see later which it is!

Yeah the 50 is a right pain for some shots but i am falling in love with it probably because its making me think so much more about will it all fit in the frame and the composistion (sp), but i am looking forward to feb so i can change lens

ste yeah you'll have to feature him somehow, mine will no doubt be a feature in most shots

well... i was slightly annoyed with myself yesterday as i didnt take a picture even though i did have some time to do something before i went out for a meal with the gf so i was a day behind today and this is the shot i should of taken yesterday,

Light is the key - this shot is a day late as i didnt have chance to get one yesterday, Decided to have a go at painting with light and this is what i came up with, Im more impressed with my ability to write backwards in the air as this is straight off the camera (ie no flipping the image was involved)

Inner Light - was out tonight with one of my friends and this is what i am using today name given due to the halo effect from the flash behind him, white balance is off though i think i have made it too blue looking at it now.

lesson learnt today - dont leave gloves in the car

excellent so far.. like the back lighting on the last one, think the blue tone suits it.. looks like it was cold!
